Hi! I'm Jen Welch! I have an 9th grader that has been attending SAA since Kindergarten as well as a 1st grader. I lived most of my life in interior Alaska but have called Syracuse home for the last 10 years. We absolutely love the community and are proud to be a part of it.
My family and I enjoy attending concerts together, especially ones that involve travel! I work for a local marketing agency, handling reputation management and public relations for all of our clients. I am excited to be involved and serve in this capacity!
Hi! I'm Julie Baer. I was born in Colorado Springs, CO to a military family and have spent the past 24 years globetrotting as a military spouse. Living all over has been a great experience with Alaska being my favorite. In my past life, I taught Pre-K and Kindergarten before staying home to raise my 3 kids.
Our family enjoys game nights, theater productions, swimming, hiking, and watching the Denver Broncos. I have served as both PTA president and secretary in the past and look forward to getting to know all the great families of the Syracuse Arts community!
Hello - I’m Megan Allen and I’m happy to serve as the POEC Treasurer. I grew up in Syracuse and have a background in the financial industry spanning over 14 years. I have three kids, and we love spending time outdoors: swimming in the pool, going camping or taking our razor out for rides. We’ve loved SAA since we stepped foot through the doors and the love for SAA and the community has grown with each year we’ve been a part of it.
Hi! My name is Adrienne Murray, and I am the POEC President for Antelope Elementary Campus. Our family has lived in Utah for several years and we love the many outdoor adventures we can have here. I have a background in Family & Consumer Sciences Education and taught Junior High Foods and Teen Living in Utah County for seven years. Food is my love language and kitchen dance parties are my jam. Currently, it’s my job to chauffeur my six humans all over planet earth to their many activities. They are in 11th, 9th, 4th, 2nd, Kindergarten, and "home gnome" grades.
I’m passionate about supporting our schools, the students, and the staff, so I have always been involved in parent volunteer organizations with my kids’ schools. I look forward to continuing to serve, get to know more families, and be involved in the many wonderful things happening at SAA!
Hello - I am Julie Shurtliff, POEC President for North Campus. I have 5 children that have attended or are attending SAA. Go Dragons!
I grew up in Arizona, so I love the sunshine. I graduated from BYU with a degree in sociology. I love to dance and have organized many large events with live music, instructors, venues, etc. I know how to get things done quickly, well, stay within a budget, and advertise.
I love to have fun and laugh and I hope to bring that positive energy to the activities we plan this year. I am always open to ideas, but I will probably ask you to help make it happen. It can make such a difference when you as a parent get involved with the school. Thank you for being part of this wonderful Dragon family.
Hello, I'm Angela Klippel, POEC President for South Campus. As a devoted mother of three (a 34-year-old daughter and 8-year-old twin boys in third grade), I'm deeply invested in the SAA community. I've been actively supporting classrooms, field trips, the library, and choir for the past 3 years.
I am excited to bring to the POEC my leadership and experience that I have gained over a decade of running successful businesses. I currently own a spa business and academy training center for licensed nurses, estheticians, and cosmetologists, utilizing my 18 years of experience as a Master Esthetician and 17 years of experience as a licensed master educator. I also run a thriving computer business and have over 10 years of experience as a national EMT.
I'm passionate about helping others and look forward to supporting the important work that the POEC does to ensure the success of the school’s extracurricular activities.
Hello - I'm Rachel Gibson, POEC Vice President for South Campus.
I work full time for the State of Utah as a Systems Administrator for the Department of Technology. I just celebrated my 16th year.
I have 6 children ranging from ages 21 to 4. My oldest 4 kids attended Wasatch Peak Academy in North Salt Lake where I was the Treasurer for 2 years. I assisted with all fundraising, teacher events, and even helped purchase the largest item for that school: 2 commercial swing sets for the students. I arranged all the monies spent, business donations and parent volunteers to make this happen.
I am super excited to volunteer at SAA and I absolutely love charter schools.!
Hi! I am McKenzie Taylor, Junior High President.
I am a mom to a beautiful baby boy, and a bonus mom to a 14-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy! I have worked at SAA for the past 3 years as a TA and loved every minute of it. After having my son, I decided to take a step back and enjoy him while he’s young. Volunteering with the POEC allows me a way to stay connected.
When I have free time I love crafting, movies, concerts and doing things with my family and friends!
Hello - I'm Doni Dover, POEC Vice President for the Junior High.
I am a mother of 2 children who currently attend SAA Jr. High, and another who is now in high school. While my children attended North Campus, my main volunteer hours were on the costume committee for the musicals. I also assisted with teacher appreciation and random small events.
I currently work for Hill AFB as a federal employee in Acquisitions. Previously I worked for the UT Air National Guard (UTANG) full-time in the Force Support Squadron in Services. I recently retired from the UT Air National Guard (part-time) as a First Sergeant for the 130th Engineering and Installations squadron. I have a master’s in counseling and bachelor’s in human services. I worked as a social worker for the State of Utah for 9 years before working full time with UTANG.
